Medical Grade Skin Care Products in Cambridge

The science of anti-aging has moved forward and radical discoveries have been made in the last 10 years. Newer products have led to advances that make younger looking skin attainable. However, North American women spend $4.5 billion a year on skin care products that simply do not work!

Why? Why are you being shortchanged with a mixture of oil and water and a lovely smell in a stunning jar presented to you by a beautiful twenty year old face. There are several reasons why the "new advanced" ingredients are not finding their way into those expensive jars at the cosmetic counter.

The vitamins and nutrients that are prominently displayed on the packaging and advertisements are often present in minuscule quantities in the jar. When it says "Contains XYZ ingredient". "XYZ" ingredient proven to reduce wrinkles'... it doesn't actually tell you that there is not enough XYZ in their particular cream! So their claims are true however it doesn't help you any because it doesn't apply to the jar of cream in your hand.

First of all, the regulatory bodies do not allow the cosmetic companies to put sufficient ingredients in their products. As soon as any ingredient makes a "clinical" difference, the product is no longer classified a cosmetic. It then becomes a pharmaceutical and the company can not sell it. So they are in a catch. Secondly, active ingredients are expensive. Cosmetic companies are very concerned about their bottom line, so they will not use expensive ingredients. Most of the companies expenditure goes for promotion and advertising. They are not interested in putting in hardly any amount of active ingredient. So they "sprinkle" the ingredient in!

Thirdly, often the "active ingredients" can initially irritate the skin, which would lead to lower sales in the cosmetic industry. If one gets the cream through a doctor, it is dispensed with medical advice and one can be told to expect irritation etc, but would be a disaster for the cosmetic company. They can't afford to be bad mouthed, and have "returned" products.

In summary, it is a smart move to try to truly understand the science behind medical ingredients and then purchase those products that contain an adequate quantity and are dispensed with medical advice. Medical Grade Products are not only more concentrated (hence last longer), often less expensive, but are actually proven to work! You can expect to see a visible difference within weeks.
