Erase 10 years off your face - No Surgery, Minimum Downtime!
Dr Takhar’s Cosmetic Clinic is excited to announce that after months of deliberation, they have decided to add the Profactional laser to their list of services. “This is huge” says Dr Takhar. “We eventually gave in to popular demand. We had so many patients asking us if we could bring that laser in. Until now, we had been sending these people to Toronto”.
By introducing this ground breaking technology to their clinic, Dr. Takhar’s staff anticipate that they will be busy. Especially in view of the pent up demand for procedures which have little or no downtime and significant results.
The Profactional laser, made by Sciton is able to do what we dream off. Ultimately, it can easily turn the clock back, erasing as many as ten years off one’s face, if not more. In addition to minimizing skin imperfections, the Profactional laser stimulates the collagen production which does two things….treats deep wrinkles and scars on the face. Essentially, the laser treatments gently treat the skin with micro pulses of light. This enables lost collagen under the skin to be remade, which in turn corrects the wrinkles. It also reduces acne scarring, poor texture of the skin, loose skin and sun damaged skin.
Some lines on the face are amenable to Botox and fillers, for example, the forehead lines and smile lines. However, fine cheek lines, upper lip creases and eye skin creepiness can only be treated by this type of high end technology. Until now, the only solution people had was a face lift. Many people do not want a face lift because they do not want the “pinched” look, the downtime associated with the procedure, not to mention the cost. Hence, these higher end lasers are extremely popular.
To reduce wrinkles, tighten the skin and significantly make the skin look youthful, 4 treatments are recommended approx 1 month apart. These treatments can be done in the clinic setting and take approximately ? hour per treatment. There is very little discomfort and very minimal down time. Most people can go back to work within a week with only the look of a mild sunburn. Although it is advisable to avoid the sun for a few days, these treatments can be done in the summer months as the laser is not affected by tanned skin.
Although this technology has been around for several years, it has not been available outside the major city centres. “The main reason is the cost,” says Dr Takhar. “These machines cost several hundred thousand dollars, and after 4-5 years the technology moves on”. “Doctors in the big city centres can charge $1200-$1500 per treatment - and they do, but this just isn’t feasible in smaller towns.” To get around this issue, a combination of persistence and awareness of the economic realities that the laser companies face led to a solution.
“We managed to negotiate with the laser company and got a good deal,” said Barinda Randhawa, the clinic manager. “Furthermore,” said Dr.Takhar, “by being a centre of excellence where we can allow other physicians to come and view our practice and our lasers in action, we managed to secure a great deal.
This means that we can offer a substantial discount to our patients - 4 full-face sessions can cost as little as $2000. This is an excellent bargain considering people are paying double in Toronto and in Calgary. However, this does mean that we are going to be very busy and our booking is simply on a first come, first serve basis. We are already 90% booked up for our first session in June.”
